who are we?

We are a Christian married couple who love and follow Jesus our Saviour. We know that the church has not always treated LGBTQ+ people lovingly and has frequently excluded us or may even have gone so far as to suggest that we are excluded from God's grace and mercy, however, we know that this is NOT God's truth. Jesus loves LGBTQ+ people with exactly the same measure that He loves and gave Himself for ALL of humanity.

At affirmingministries.org we aim to offer a safe and inclusive space where all LGBTQ+ people (and our allies) can meet like minded people, make friends and enjoy a range of activities. 

As Christians we would obviously like to encourage and support anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith further or who is keen to find out more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus but if all you want to do is join our social events and make new friends, that's okay. We aren't trying to trick or coerce anyone into coming to church. We just want LGBTQ+ people to FLOURISH. 

For anyone who already follows Jesus (we know a lot of LGBTQ+ people already believe and trust in God) we aim to provide a supportive environment where you can grow, thrive and FLOURISH as mature disciples of Jesus.
